The Process
GeoVisions is an officially designated U.S. Department of State sponsor for the BridgeUSA Intern and Trainee Programs. That means we understand the visa process and the requirements involved in receiving approval. We will support you through the following process either directly or together with our partner agency in your home country:

Am I eligible?
GeoVisions BridgeUSA programs have specific requirements for participation.
Before you apply, make sure you meet the basic qualifications for the programs:

INTERNS
- Must currently be a full-time student or
- A recent graduate (No more than 12 months ago) holding a post-secondary academic degree from an institution outside of the U.S.
- Must speak fluent English
- Must commit to leaving the U.S. within thirty (30) days following the last day of the J-1 program.
- Positions are 6 – 12 months in duration

TRAINEES
- Must be a recent graduate, or
- A professional with at least 5 years of related work experience
- Must speak excellent English
- Must commit to leaving the U.S. within thirty (30) days following the last day of the J-1 program.
- Positions are 6 – 18 months in duration

GeoVisions advises that you bring at least $2,000 to the U.S. to cover your initial living expenses prior to receiving your first paycheck. Please note that the recommended amount does not include housing expenses.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I check-in monthly with you?
Yes. Because your safety is our primary concern, you will be required to check-in with us every month while you are abroad. But we are also here whenever you need us! We provide you with 24/7 support from our dedicated team of staff.
- What is the host employer’s role?
It’s an honor and a privilege for businesses to participate in the program. They will ensure you train alongside seasoned professionals and gain additional work experience to build upon your current skills.
- How much does the program cost?
Program costs and visa costs vary depending on the type of program you want.
- How long does each program last?
The Intern program lasts up to 12 months and the Trainee program, up to 18 months max.
- The U.S. is so big – where will I be working?
This will vary based on the position. We recommend candidates be flexible with their location choices, and we strongly encourage candidates to apply to multiple locations in the U.S.
- Who will help me find housing?
Some positions offer housing and some do not. The good news is that we can provide you with housing recommendations. We inspect all our recommended housing options to ensure that the housing is affordable, safe, and close to your host company. Housing arrangements must be in place before arriving to the U.S.
Both your visa sponsor and employer must have your most current address and telephone contact information at all times while you are in the program.
