You receive limited medical insurance as part of your program.  Please review the information carefully to make sure you understand your insurance coverage and benefits.

To note: GeoVisions is NOT your insurance provider.  We can provide general information about the policy, but you should always call Hollard Travel Insurance before and after seeking medical attention.

Insurance Details:

If you need to see a doctor, always call Hollard Travel/United Healthcare (the insurance company) BEFORE and AFTER seeking medical attention. The insurance agent will help identify the nearest medical provider and will work with the provider directly to start claim process.

 

Calling BEFORE receiving medical attention ensures you find out:

  • If the treatment you need is covered by your insurance.
  • If the clinic or doctor you want to visit is in-network.
  • If your doctor’s visit requires pre-approval.

 

Calling within 10 days AFTER receiving medical attention ensures: 

  • The insurance claim has been properly filed.
  • You find out exactly what you need to submit to be reimbursed for medical expenses.
  • You open a “case” in the instance that your medical issue requires multiple doctor’s office visits.

 

All Claims must be received by Hollard Travel/United Healthcare within 30 days.

Please note if you fail to contact Hollard Travel/United Healthcare before receiving medical attention (unless an emergency), you may be responsible for all medical bills.

 

When you call Hollard Travel/United Healthcare, please give them the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Your DS-2019 Number
  • The nature of your illness or the reason you are seeking medical attention

 

Hollard Travel/United Healthcare will provide you with information for a nearby doctor’s office that accepts the insurance.

 

Make sure to write down the following information:

  • Address and a phone number of the doctor’s office
  • Name of the person that you spoke with at Hollard Travel

 

When you go to see a doctor, be sure to bring:

  • Your passport
  • Your insurance information
  • Money (checkbook, debit/credit card) to cover the co-pay

 

Request a copy of all forms you sign or that are given to you regarding your medical visit.

 

Deductible or Co-pay

If you seek medical attention while on your program, you will have to pay a deductible (co-pay). Deductible/co-pay is a fee that is normal for all insurance companies.  You will not get back the money you paid for the co-pay.

  • Co-pay for doctor’s office visits and clinics- $100
  • Emergency Room/Hospital visit- $250.  If you are hospitalized, you will not have to pay a $250 deductible.

 

Please make sure to go to the Hospital ER only in case of a true life-threatening emergency.

Hollard Travel/On Call International must process your medical claim

• Medical claims are summaries of medical services and expenses that are submitted to
health insurance companies for payment, like receiving a bill at the end of a meal. If
Hollard Travel/On Call International is alerted to you receiving medical attention right
away, they will work with medical provider directly, to process your claim.

• If you paid your medical bill at the time of your visit, you need to file a medical claim with Hollard Travel By filing a claim form with Hollard Travel, you may be reimbursed for the expenses you had to pay yourself.

• If you receive a medical bill from the medical provider, you will need to file an online
claim with all supporting documents, your bill as well as your medical records with
Hollard Travel. Submit your claim on our website and send Hollard the medical

• You must send Hollard Travel the admission report immediately (within 24 hours if
calling On Call International for authorisation)

• You must send Hollard Travel your discharge report and proof of payment of the excess amount within 24 hours of being discharged.

To file a claim, you must contact Hollard Travel/On Call International at 1-877-826-2910 and notify them you are filing a claim; then submit your medical records, doctor’s notes,
prescriptions, receipts (if applicable).
All claims must be submitted within 30 days of the date of the medical visit or they will NOT be reimbursed.

When submitting a claim:
• Provide as much detail as possible.
• Include copies of all the forms and receipts associated with your medical treatment.
• Make sure that all information you provide is accurate, correct, and complete.
• Please note, being reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses may take time and is not
guaranteed.

Your policy covers you through the end of your DS-2019. If you plan to travel for up to 30 days after your Program End Date, we strongly advise that you purchase additional insurance that will cover you during your travel period.  To do so, please contact support@geovisions.com up to three weeks before the end of your program. 

The cost is $30/month.

  • Unexpected and urgent medical treatment resulting from an accident or illness.
  • Repatriation: In the event of death, repatriation of mortal remains, including transportation of the body from the site of death to the sending funeral home to the airport, minimally necessary casket or air tray for transport, coordination of consular services, procuring death certificate and transport of the remains from the airport to the receiving funeral home.
  • Medical Evacuation: Transportation to a medical facility that can provide appropriate care in the event of serious injury or sickness that cannot be adequately dealt with at the location where the illness or accident took place.
  • Bedside visitation for one family member in case of critical illness or accident.
  • Skiing and snowboarding coverage for accidents that occurred on official and groomed trails
  • Pre-existing disease or condition and complications thereof.
  • Routine or preventative exams or health screenings.
  • Medical costs related to examination or treatment which are not administered by a licensed physician or in a licensed healthcare institution.
  • Costs of rehabilitation, physical therapy, kinesitherapy, all expenses for spas, hydrotherapeutic treatment or other such resorts and facilities.
  • Costs for medical help administered by homeopathic doctors or natural doctors.
  • Dental treatment– fillings, devitalization, prosthetic treatment and all alike, except emergency anesthesia and medically dental surgery in case of accident.
  • Vision– eye exams, prescription glasses and/or contact lenses.
  • Injuries sustained while snowboarding.
  • Injuries sustained while skiing off official paths, or sustained due to alcohol/drug consumption.
  • Costs relative to treatment of the mental health and mental disorders of the insured.
  • Willful attempt at self- injury; suicide or attempted suicide.
  • Injuries resulting from criminal activity or resulting while one is arrested or imprisoned.
  • Injuries resulting from natural catastrophes.
  • AIDS, no matter how it is acquired or called, or HIV infection.
  • Self- treatment or disobedience of a doctor’s advice.
  • Pregnancy (incl. tubal pregnancy), childbirth, abortion and any consequent complications or diseases.
  • Involvement in hazardous activities including motor sports, flying, hang-gliding, sailing and underwater sports and hobbies, jumps from height, climbing requiring special equipment and speleology (spelunking).
  • Consumption of alcohol, narcotics and other opiate or illegal substances. Injuries sustained due to alcohol or drug consumption or accidents where the insured was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Tropical Diseases.
